On 21st May 2025, Columbus Public School, Rudrapur proudly hosted an impactful session for Senior Students as part of the Yatayat Evam Cyber Jaagrukta Abhiyan initiated by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Rudrapur. This program was designed to empower students with knowledge about traffic rules and to elevate awareness surrounding cyber safety and related crimes.
The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Prashant Kumar, Circle Officer, Rudrapur, who captivated the audience with an insightful presentation on traffic management, cyber crime prevention, and the proactive role young citizens must play in promoting safety and legal awareness. His compelling speech underscored the urgent need for youth to stay informed and vigilant in today's rapidly changing digital and social environment.
The session was further enriched by distinguished contributions from the ARTO, Rudrapur; the Traffic Incharge; the CPU (City Patrolling Unit) Incharge; and the Cyber Crime Incharge. Each speaker shared invaluable insights from their professional experiences, emphasizing the critical importance of adhering to traffic laws and practicing safe online behavior.
Students received thorough education on both basic and advanced road safety rules, highlighting the dangers of underage driving, the necessity of wearing helmets and seatbelts, and the severe repercussions of reckless or distracted driving. The officials also clarified the structure of law enforcement and the collaborative efforts of various departments in ensuring public safety.
On the cyber safety front, students were informed about prevalent forms of cyber crime including identity theft, phishing, cyber bullying, and online fraud. The session emphasized the significance of protecting personal information, identifying suspicious online activity, and promptly reporting cyber threats to the relevant authorities. Moreover, attendees learned about the legal protections afforded by the IT Act that shield citizens, particularly minors, from cyber exploitation.
