A two-day subject-oriented Capacity
Building Programme (CBP) on English Core for Senior Secondary, organised by the Centre of Excellence (COE), CBSE Dehradun, was successfully conducted on 22nd and 23rd November 2025 at the auditorium of the prestigious Columbus Public School, located in the Model Colony, Rudrapur.
The primary objective of this workshop was to strengthen pedagogical practices, deepen subject understanding, and enhance the overall quality of classroom teaching. The sessions were facilitated by distinguished Resource Persons—

Ms. Richa Basal, PGT (English), Golden Gate Public School, Moradabad
Their expertise, interactive approach, and practical demonstrations provided participating teachers with valuable insights into effective English Core teaching, aligned with the CBSE curriculum.
The workshop was inaugurated with great reverence by the school’s Managing Director, Mr. Manoj Kumar Kheda, Principal Mr. Manoj Kumar, and the Resource Persons through the lighting of the ceremonial lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati. The Resource Persons were respectfully felicitated with shawls, extending a warm and formal welcome. During the welcome address, the dignitaries highlighted the growing significance of English proficiency and innovative teaching methodologies in modern education.
A total of 31 teachers from various schools across Rudrapur actively participated, reflecting a strong spirit of collaborative learning and professional development.
The programme concluded with a dignified closing ceremony, during which the Principal of Columbus Public School, Mr. Manoj Kumar, appreciated the teachers’ dedication towards professional growth and extended heartfelt gratitude to the Resource Persons for their invaluable contributions. He also presented them with mementos as a token of appreciation.
All participating teachers praised the workshop's content-rich sessions, meaningful interactions, and excellent organisation. During the closing remarks, Principal Mr. Manoj Kumar reaffirmed that Columbus Public School remains committed to promoting excellence in education and will continue providing impactful training opportunities for teachers.
